Electrician's Supplies

The Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) is a process that assesses the electrical systems, circuits, and services that distribute electricity throughout a property. Over time, all electrical installations can degrade due to age and usage. Regular fixed testing, commonly referred to as an EICR, is crucial for maintaining the safety of users and ensuring the reliability of permanent equipment.

The Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) will reveal any existing circuits or equipment are overloaded or potentially faulty. It will identify any shock or fire hazards within the electrical system, as well as highlight any substandard DIY work that may been done in the past.

Additionally, it will check for the absence of proper bonding or earthing at key points like the consumer unit, boiler, and water cylinder.

Testing is performed on the wiring and fixed electrical equipment to confirm their safety. A comprehensive schedule of circuits at the consumer unit is also included to ensure each circuit is clearly labelled.

Upon completion of each inspection, a detailed report is provided that outlines the condition of the current installation, along with recommendations for bringing it up to standard or enhancing its safety.

EICR testing may be advised every 1 3, 5, or 10 years, depending on the age, usage, and condition of the premises and existing installation. To schedule an EICR inspection, give us a call or click the button below.
